In a disturbing revelation, new details have emerged about the mental health treatment of Audrey Hale, the shooter responsible for the tragic Covenant School massacre. Retired Nashville police officer Lt. Garet Davidson disclosed that Hale's mental health issues were significantly more severe than previously reported, sparking questions about the effectiveness of her treatment and the transparency of her mental health records.
Audrey Hale, who took the lives of three children and three adults at the Christian elementary school on March 27, 2023, had a long history of psychiatric treatment.

Reports indicate that Hale was under the care of Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) for more than two decades, receiving treatment for various mental health disorders. Hale’s psychologist reportedly referred her to VUMC after she expressed violent fantasies, including plans for a mass shooting.
Davidson claims that despite these alarming indicators, there was a significant lapse in communication and action from the treating professionals. Records from VUMC revealed that Hale had specific ideations about mass shootings, yet it appears there was no proactive measure taken to prevent her from obtaining firearms or committing the heinous act. The confidentiality of Hale’s mental health records has been a contentious issue, with calls for transparency being met with resistance from both the FBI and local law enforcement.

The medications prescribed to Hale included Lexapro, Buspirone, and Hydroxyzine, a combination known for its potential to cause severe side effects, including aggression, hallucinations, and suicidal ideation.
